Geotechnical Engineer

Role Description:

Our client is seeking a full-time Geotechnical Engineer to join their team. The Geotechnical Engineer will be instrumental in providing geotechnical design criteria for a range of projects, including open pit, underground, tunnelling, and related activities. The successful candidate will have a strong background in international design guidelines and technical specifications, with expertise in soil and rock mechanics, ground investigation studies, and the interpretation and modelling of in-situ testing and laboratory results. This role requires proficiency in numerical and empirical modelling, tunnel and TMB design, support (lining), portal design, and slope stability analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and provide geotechnical design criteria for open pit, underground, tunnelling, and related mining projects.
• Conduct ground investigations and interpret in-situ testing and laboratory results.
• Perform numerical and empirical modelling to support design and analysis.
• Design and support tunnel and TMB (Tunnel Boring Machine) structures, including lining and portal design.
• Analyze slope stability and recommend appropriate support and reinforcement measures.
• Ensure adherence to international design guidelines and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geotechnical solutions into project plans.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in geotechnical assessments and stability analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex geotechnical challenges.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software packages and rock mechanics/geotechnical software.
• Experience with soil and rock mechanics, ground investigation studies, and design and analysis of tunnelling and slope stability.
