 Job Description:

Our client is recruiting an ID Finishes Site Supervisor to join a landmark aviation project in Libya, extending through December 2025 with a possible extension to June 2026. This high-profile initiative involves the development and certification of terminal buildings, and we are building a dedicated team to oversee its success. The ID Finishes Site Supervisor will play a critical role in monitoring and managing the execution of interior finishes on-site, ensuring quality and compliance through to final certification.

This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with experience in construction supervision, particularly related to finishes. While an Interior Design background is not mandatory, its a valuable asset. Depending on your expertise, you may also support peer reviews, though this will primarily be managed from our office. If you're ready to leave your mark on an iconic aviation project in a dynamic environment, this is your chance.

Role and Responsibilities

Key Duties

  • Site Supervision: Oversee and monitor all works related to interior finishes (e.g., flooring, wall treatments, ceilings, fixtures) for terminal buildings, ensuring alignment with project specifications and timelines.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections to verify that finishes meet quality standards, contractual requirements, and aviation-specific regulations.
  • Coordination: Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and site teams to resolve issues, manage schedules, and ensure seamless execution of finishing works.
  • Progress Reporting: Provide detailed updates on finishing activities to the project management team, highlighting milestones, delays, or risks.
  • Compliance: Ensure all finishing works adhere to Libyan construction standards, aviation safety requirements, and our clients quality benchmarks.
  • Peer Review Support (Optional): Assist with peer reviewing design documents or finishes plans, depending on experience, with primary oversight from the office team.
  • Problem Resolution: Address on-site challenges related to finishes, escalating complex issues to senior management as needed.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of finishing works, including daily logs, material usage, and compliance checks.

Qualifications and Experience

Required

  • Education: Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years in construction site supervision, with specific experience overseeing finishing works (e.g., drywall, tiling, painting, fixtures).
    • Proven ability to manage site operations and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Project Exposure: Prior experience on large-scale construction projects, preferably terminal buildings or aviation-related infrastructure.

Preferred

  • Interior Design Background: Experience or education in Interior Design is an asset but not essential.
  • Aviation Projects: Familiarity with terminal building construction or aviation industry standards is highly desirable.
  • Peer Review Capability: Experience in reviewing design plans or finishes specifications is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of construction finishing processes and materials (e.g., installation techniques, quality standards).
  • Ability to interpret architectural and finishing drawings/specifications.
  • Basic proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Excel) for reporting and tracking.

Personal Competencies

  • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for quality and precision in overseeing finishes.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced site environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Quick thinking to address on-site issues and adapt to changing conditions.
  • Communication: Clear and effective verbal and written skills to coordinate with diverse teams and report progress.
  • Resilience: Comfortable working in a challenging, remote location (Libya) with a proactive and adaptable mindset.

Additional Requirements

  • Mobility: Willingness to relocate to Libya for the project duration (through December 2025, potentially June 2026).
  • Cultural Adaptability: Ability to work effectively in an international and dynamic project setting.

Working Conditions

  • Location: On-site in Libya, with living accommodations provided as part of the project package.
