Financial Controller

 Job Description:

OVERVIEW

Seeking an experienced Financial Controller with a strong finance background in construction. Key responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, reporting, compliance, and team leadership. Oversee daily accounting, drive cost reduction, and align financial goals with business objectives

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes.
  • Participate in developing and implementing financial strategies and policies to support the company's goals and objectives.
  • Manage and monitor the company's financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
  • Prepare and present financial statements, reports, and analysis to senior management and stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable and receivable and general ledger.
  • Identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Lead and mentor a team of financial professionals, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure financial goals are aligned with overall business objectives.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • CA(SA) or other relevant professional certification is preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in finance with 5 years in the construction industry.

SKILLS

  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
