Key Accounts Manager

 Job Description:

  • Build and Maintain Client relationships.
  • Assume full responsibility for the existing client accounts.
  • Address and resolve issues/queries and report back to relevant parties.
  • Constantly explore opportunities to expand and grow within the existing Client Base.
  • Can engage in consultative selling and has a business solutions approach, including the ability to understand clients business needs.
  • Prepare, manage presentations, proposals, and account plans.
  • Meet and exceed defined and assigned sales targets.
  • Effectively forecast, plan, implement and deploy projects for clients.
  • Define and adhere to Prompt response time and methodologies to client queries.
  • Define SLAs.
  • Ensure adherence to agreed SLAs.
  • Ensure Clients are at all times informed on all our clients Products and Services.
  • Analyse and map the client process and equipment volume/type flow.
  • Update and maintain customer contact detail: (Finance, Logistics, Purchasing, Scan users/web capturing users, production).
  • Plan and facilitate Client education on new technologies and developments (products and services).
  • Facilitate training on our clients system and scanner and new technologies/applications.
  • Proactively identify issues that may influence a current client to review their affiliation.
  • Proactively investigate rates/competitor activity/competitive product/s that may influence client affiliation and explore/introduce counter measures to ensure client retention and advise Senior management of potential issues that may impact a client/s decision to review their affiliation with our client.

Experience & Skills

  • Matric / Grade 12.
  • Relevant Qualification.
  • 3-5 years experience in the Automotive / Logistics / FMCG / Courier Industry.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of all operational activities.
  • Analyse the internal and external business environment and create workable solutions to address challenges and/or opportunities that will enhance business performance.
  • Arrive at appropriate, logical, and effective decisions. Understand impact of decision making on all aspects of the business.
  • Express oneself in a logical, clear, and understandable manner.
  • Influence attitudes and opinions of others and gain agreement to proposals, plans and ideas, skilful at negotiating.
  • Set high goals and standards of work for self and others. Meticulous, precise and thorough.
  • Willing to take responsibility for own actions. Resilient. Able to recover quickly from setbacks.

  • Monitor performance against objectives and targets. Set step-by step action plans for each of the goals and follow up regularly.
