Business Development Manager
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development: Research and identify new business opportunities, markets, and partnerships. Develop and execute strategies to drive growth and revenue.
- Client & Agency Management: Build strong relationships with key decision-makers at agencies and direct clients. Maintain a regular presence with creative agencies to stay informed about client needs.
- Sales & Proposals: Prepare, present, and follow up on proposals. Negotiate and close deals, often involving complex sales cycles. Ensure contracts, purchase orders, and production documents are completed accurately.
- Industry & Competitor Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitor offerings and trends in the out-of-home (OOH) and broader media landscape. Understand client business objectives and align media solutions accordingly.
- Reporting & Planning: Regularly update management on sales activity, pending deals, and pipeline projections. Track performance against monthly and annual targets.
- Client Engagement: Participate in client entertainment and networking activities, including coffee meetings, lunches, dinners, and industry events, occasionally after hours.
- Professional Conduct: Maintain a professional image and conduct at all times. Present the company positively during all interactions.
Requirements & Skills:
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in the media industry.
- Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and entrepreneurial mindset.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage paperwork, deadlines, and client expectations effectively.
- Ability to meet minimum expectations of 8 client or agency meetings per week.
- Media industry experience; OOH media experience advantageous.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Achieve or exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
- Conduct a minimum of 8 meetings per week with clients or agencies.
- Maintain accurate records of proposals, pending deals, and client interactions.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of products, competitor offerings, and the media landscape.
- Attend networking events, client entertainment, and agency open days to strengthen relationships and generate new leads.
