Professional Architect

 Job Description:

We are seeking a Professional Architect (Pr Arch) to act as Lead Architect within a growing in-house professional practice supporting a large and diverse property portfolio. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for architectural delivery from project inception through to completion and Facilities Management (FM) handover, working across commercial and industrial developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Lead Architect for small to medium-scale multidisciplinary projects within an in-house professional practice.
  • Deliver full architectural services across all work stages, from inception to close-out and FM handover, in accordance with SACAP requirements.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary Revit and AEC system development in collaboration with the BIM Manager.
  • Plan, manage, and oversee the production of contract documentation, supported by a team of architectural technologists.
  • Manage municipal submissions, approvals, and compliance processes.
  • Coordinate SAPOA area certification requirements.
  • Fulfil principal agent duties and oversee building contract administration.
  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership within the architectural team.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Architecture from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Lead Professional Architect within a private architectural practice in South Africa.
  • Professional registration with SACAP (Pr Arch).
  • Proven experience in commercial and industrial projects, including:
    • Greenfield developments
    • Refurbishments
    • New-build construction
  • Demonstrated experience as Principal Agent and/or Project Manager.
