Financial Manager

 Job Description:

The Financial Manager is responsible for overseeing the company's financial health through comprehensive accounting and financial control functions, strategic financial planning, and regulatory compliance. This position provides critical financial guidance to senior management, supporting informed decision-making and ensuring long-term organizational sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Maintain general ledger integrity, including monthly sub-ledger reconciliations
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes while supporting annual audit procedures
  • Oversee fixed asset register management and maintenance
  • Execute intercompany loan and transaction reconciliations
  • Conduct monthly VAT and PAYE reconciliations
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual)
  • Compile comprehensive monthly reports across multiple entities for management review
  • Ensure full compliance with tax, audit, and regulatory requirements

Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

  • Manage cashbook operations and payment processing workflows
  • Optimize cash flow forecasting and liquidity management
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with banking partners, auditors, and external stakeholders

Compliance, Risk & Internal Controls

  • Develop, enhance, and document robust business processes and accounting policies
  • Strengthen internal control frameworks and oversee audit processes
  • Ensure strict adherence to financial regulations and tax legislation
  • Identify potential financial risks and implement effective mitigation strategies

Strategic Financial Planning & Business Support

  • Analyze financial trends and identify emerging risks and opportunities
  • Align financial strategies with operational requirements and strategic objectives
  • Support the development and implementation of new or enhanced accounting systems
  • Manage relationships with third-party stakeholders and service providers

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment
  • Promote organizational culture focused on accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement
  • Provide additional accounting support and staff assistance as needed

Required Qualifications

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (mandatory)
  • Completed articles of clerkship
  • Professional certification such as CA(SA), CIMA, PA(SA), or CPA

Experience Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant financial management experience
  • CaseWare experience (essential)
  • Experience with SAGE Intacct accounting software (preferred)

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong knowledge of financial management principles, accounting standards, and tax regulations
  • Experience with various accounting software platforms
