Job Summary
The Fire Protection Assistant is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire protection systems while ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations. The role involves coordinating technicians, conducting site assessments, managing inventory, enforcing safety protocols, and supporting the successful delivery of fire protection projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate fire protection technicians to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and according to quality standards.
- Conduct on-site assessments and provide technical guidance to optimize team performance and project outcomes.
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of fire protection systems.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of materials, tools, and equipment required for project execution.
- Perform routine safety inspections and ensure strict compliance with health and safety procedures.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and submit project progress reports, safety reports, and risk management documentation.
- Assist with compiling fire risk assessments and identifying potential hazards.
- Stay informed of industry developments, technological advancements, and changes to fire protection standards and regulations.
Minimum Requirements
- 2–3 years' experience within the fire protection industry.
- N3 qualification in Plumbing or Electrical.
- Valid driver's license.
- Willingness and ability to travel to various project sites as required.
Technical Knowledge
- Fire sprinkler systems.
- Fire detection and alarm systems.
- Fire suppression systems.
- Fire pumps and associated equipment.
- Electrical motors and related systems.
- Basic understanding of fire protection codes, standards, and local building regulations.
