Role Objective
As part of our digital transformation journey, we are seeking a talented and experienced FinOps Lead to join our dynamic team. This role will be instrumental in optimizing costs, improving financial transparency, and driving financial accountability for our customers.
FinOps Lead is responsible to work with the various customers and develop cloud usage visibility, providing cost optimization recommendations and detailed cloud billing and usage statistics for resources on Cloud Platforms (Azure, GCP & Oracle Cloud). The role will also support customer teams on cloud budgets, financial forecasts, showbacks, and chargebacks models.
Detailed Roles and Responsibilities:
- Financial Optimization:
- Lead initiatives to optimize costs across Azure, Oracle and GCP environments.
- Implement best practices for cost allocation, tagging, and resource utilization.
- Cost Visibility and Reporting:
- Establish and maintain robust reporting mechanisms for cost visibility and budget tracking.
- Provide regular financial reports and insights to key stakeholders.
- Budget Management:
- Develop and manage cloud budgets, working closely with business units and Cloud teams.
- Implement proactive measures to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Cloud Cost Governance:
- Define and enforce cloud cost governance policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with financial policies.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Cloud, finance, and procurement to align cloud costs with business objectives.
- Conduct regular training sessions to raise awareness of FinOps practices.
- Forecasting and Planning:
- Work closely with IT leaders to develop accurate cloud cost forecasts.
- Support capacity planning initiatives based on business needs.
- Vendor Management:
- Manage relationships with cloud service providers (Azure, Oracle and GCP).
- Stay informed about pricing models, discounts, and new offerings.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance the efficiency of cloud spending.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities for cost control.
- Financial Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization.
- Provide actionable insights to leadership based on financial data.

Educational and Professional Qualifications:
- Diploma/Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Computer Science
- FinOps Certified Professional is a must.
Skills & Experience:
- At least 5 years relevant IT experience.
- Proven experience in a similar FinOps role with a focus on cloud platforms, particularly Azure.
- Strong understanding of cloud economics, pricing models, and billing structures.
- Experience in implementing and optimizing FinOps best practices in a complex organization.
- Excellent financial analysis skills with the ability to translate technical data into actionable financial insights.
- Familiarity with cloud management tools and cost optimization solutions.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across diverse teams.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to lead initiatives independently.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance considerations in cloud financial management.
- Experience with native and 3rd party Public Cloud cost management & advisory tools.
- Proficiency with PowerBI dashboards, MS Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently with attention to details and accuracy.
