ICITAP Egypt Project Coordinator

advisory and mentoring services to host nations under the Criminal Divisions International
Criminal Investigative Training and Assistance Program (ICITAP).

in developing countries. Amentum is the contract service provider to the DOJ ICITAP and
Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (OPDAT) programs.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Amentum is currently seeking qualified candidates to serve as a Project Coordinator on the
EXBS NADR and join our dynamic team based in Cairo, Egypt. The position is responsible for
but not limited to providing assistance to TDY American instructors or advisors in the field,
facilitating normal day-to-day communication between USG and the host country agency
officials. Will require the person to coordinate with the other organizational units as needed,
completing required forms, e.g. training and vetting request etc. This position requires the person
to have an understanding of border security, customs, and strategic trade control related issues in
Egypt and is preferred to have prior experience with the Egyptian Ministry of Defense, Border
Guard Forces, or Customs Service. Must have the ability to plan, organize and manage a project
with limited guidance. Must be able to prioritize assignments. Must be able to effectively
communicate orally and in writing, both in English and Arabic. Must be able to work under
pressure, to deal with overlapping tasks. Must be able to work independently when the advisor is
not at the post.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working with the EXBS Egypt Advisor and LES Program Coordinator Specialist at
Embassy Cairo, ICITAP Egypt Program Officer, Federal Partners to provide instruction
support for specialized trainings, vendors, interlocutors, as well as others as required.
Assists with beneficiary coordination, obtaining necessary legal permissions related to
border security authorities for relevant project sites and provide mission updates and
reporting to the EXBS Egypt Advisor and LES Program Specialist.
Works with the EXBS Egypt Advisor and LES Program Specialist to coordinate training
events organized locally and abroad for host government officials. In addition, he/she is
responsible for all logistical elements of program-related travel including, transportation,
housing and per diem for all participants.
Accompanies officials (federal, contract, and host nation) to U.S. and in-country training
venues as coordinator, escort and serves as interpreter for U.S. delegations (required
Arabic Language), as requested.
Travels to locations in and outside of the host country and may participates in trainings
and conferences both in-country and abroad. During local trainings provides logistical
support to instructors, identifies training facility, and works with Amentum or the EXBS
LES Program Specialist to make necessary arrangements and to hire interpreters.
Performs a wide variety of administrative duties, including filing, records searches, and
the assembling of materials for use in preparing reports, etc., from oral instruction or in
accordance with standard Office procedures.
Develops and maintains relevant databases, files, notes, and point of contact lists to
facilitate Office contact and coordination with host government and others.
Assists the EXBS LES Program Specialist to coordinate delivery of equipment and
training programs for host country government officials organized within the framework
of Program in country or abroad.
Assists in preparation of presentations and briefings as well as provides background and
support to the EXBS Program Specialist at Embassy Cairo for any official donor and
Embassy briefings, reports, and embassy strategy documents.
Prepares and manipulates Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, Access databases, and
PowerPoint presentations.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: A university degree is required.
Prior Work Experience: Three years of progressive responsible experience in an
administrative or basic financial management environment or border security institution
background with a minimum of 3 years from the Egyptian Ministry of Defense, Border
Guard Forces, or the Customs Service.
Language Proficiency (list both English and host country languages proficiency
requirements by level (II, III, IV) and specialization (speak/read): Must speak and read
English and Arabic at Level IIIV.
Job Knowledge: Must have knowledge of Microsoft software, including Word, Excel,
Access, and PowerPoint. Must have basic knowledge of administrative procedures, such
as, filing, maintaining records, establishing filing systems. Must have basic ability to
perform simple bookkeeping and record keeping functions.
Skills and Abilities: Strong organizational skills are required. Must be able to deal
effectively with people within and outside the US Embassy.
Clearable: Must be able to obtain and maintain a N/A US Government Clearance. Note:
US Citizenship is required to obtain a N/A Clearance.
