Job Description:
Job Summary:
A Business Development Manager in the renewable energy sector has a primary responsibility to identify and pursue new business opportunities that align with the companys goals; and will play a crucial role in driving the growth and expansion of the company's IPP portfolio. This position requires a deep understanding of the renewable energy industry, all applicable regulations, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including governmental representatives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Identify New Business Opportunities:
- Conduct market research to identify potential business opportunities in the renewable energy sector, in Egypt and Africa.
- Analyze market trends, locally and internationally, client needs, and competitor activities to develop a comprehensive business development strategy.
- Identify and evaluate potential projects, partnerships, and investment opportunities that align with the company's goals.
2. Develop and Execute Business Development Plans:
- Create and implement strategic business development plans to achieve growth targets in Egypt and Globally and present it to the companys senior management.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop innovative solutions and proposals for potential projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies and financial analysis to assess the viability of new business opportunities.
3. Build and Maintain Relationships:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, industry associations, and potential customers.
- Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to expand professional networks and promote the company's renewable energy capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, legal, and project management, to ensure seamless execution of business development activities.
4. Negotiation and Deal Closure:
- Lead negotiations with potential partners, customers, and suppliers to secure new business opportunities.
- Prepare and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents in collaboration with the legal team.
- Develop pricing strategies and financial models to ensure competitive and profitable deals.
5. Monitor Industry Trends and Regulations:
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes in the renewable energy sector.
- Assess the potential impact of industry developments on the company's business development strategy.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management regarding market dynamics and competitive landscape.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- Proven track record in business development, preferably in the renewable energy industry.
- Previous work experience in an Egyptian governmental entity related to the power sector.
- In-depth knowledge of renewable energy technologies, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in using MS Office and other relevant software applications.
- Willingness to travel as required.
