Job Description:
Position: Safety Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Train employees on safety protocols and procedures and ensure compliance with all safety regulations
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine the root cause and develop preventive measures
- Maintain safety records and reports and provide regular updates to management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement safety improvements
- Stay up-to-date with industry safety standards and best practices and make recommendations for continuous improvement
- Conduct safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills to prepare employees for potential emergencies
- Provide safety training and support to new hires and temporary workers
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from governmental universities is a must.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety engineering role for big projects in construction is a must.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven experience in developing and implementing safety programs and procedures
- Ability to analyze data and identify trends to make data-driven decisions
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other relevant certifications are a plus
