Position Objective
The Design Director is responsible for leading and managing all architectural and multidisciplinary
engineering design activities across the company, including Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, ICT,
QS, Sustainability, Lighting, Landscape, and urban design. The role ensures the delivery of
innovative, high-quality, and technically sound design solutions that meet client requirements,
project objectives, applicable regulations, and industry best practices. The Design Director provides
strategic leadership to design teams, oversees project design quality, drives innovation and digital
transformation initiatives, safeguards timely delivery, and ensures all departments are operating in
sync.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the design development process from concept design through
construction documentation.
Establish and maintain design standards, quality control procedures, and best practices
across all disciplines.
Direct multidisciplinary teams including architecture, structural, MEP, ICT, and landscaping
engineering teams.
Review and approve major design deliverables, presentations, reports, and technical
submissions.
Promote BIM, AI tools, computational design, and digital transformation initiatives.
Monitor project quality, budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
Act as the primary design representative with clients, developers, authorities, and
consultants when required.
Lead, mentor, and develop design managers, architects, engineers, and technical
specialists.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from an accredited university or related field
Preference Master's Degree in Architecture, Urban Design, Engineering Management, or
related field preferred.
20 years of experience in architectural and engineering consultancy.
At least 7 years in a senior leadership role managing multidisciplinary design teams.
Experience delivering large-scale projects and working within the Gulf.
Technical Knowledge
Architectural design and multidisciplinary engineering coordination.
Building Information Modeling (BIM) and digital project delivery.
AI-assisted design tools and computational design.
Egyptian building codes, international standards, and project management practices.
