Job Summary
The HSE Officer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards at field locations. This role will ensure compliance with company policies, applicable HSE regulations, and industry best practices while promoting a strong safety culture across all field operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and standards across field operations.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety observations, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
- Ensure compliance with applicable HSE regulations, company requirements, and operational standards.
- Monitor and support the implementation of Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessments, and Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
- Conduct and participate in HSE meetings, toolbox talks, safety briefings, and awareness activities.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, inspection checklists, and documentation.
- Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure adherence to safe working practices.
- Support emergency preparedness activities, drills, and response procedures.
- Identify HSE training needs and support the delivery of relevant safety training and inductions.
- Report HSE performance, observations, incidents, and recommendations to the HSE Manager.
- Coordinate with field and operational teams to ensure HSE requirements are effectively implemented.
- Promote continuous improvement and a proactive safety culture within the field team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or science from a recognized university.
- Relevant HSE certifications are preferred (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA or equivalent).
- 4–5 years of relevant HSE experience, preferably in an oil & gas, energy, or other field-based industrial environment.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong reporting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness and ability to work in field locations.
- Male candidates only.
- Strong knowledge of HSE practices, risk assessment, incident investigation, and workplace safety.
- Willingness to work on a 20 days on / 10 days off rotation.
