Job Title: Electrical Estimator
Salary: £50,000-£60,000

Reports to: Operations Director / Estimating Manager
About the Role
Were representing a well established Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) contractor based in Maidstone, serving within the commercial and industrial client base across London and the South East. The Electrical Estimator will be pivotal in preparing accurate, compliant, and competitive cost estimates for electrical works as part of broader facilities and infrastructure service packages.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications to produce detailed electrical estimates
Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to obtain competitive pricing
Prepare and submit compliant quotations, proposals, and bills of quantities aligned with client needs
Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to validate scope and ensure commercial profitability
Conduct site surveys when necessary to inform estimation process
Maintain and update pricing databases and supplier rate cards
Support posttender negotiations and provide technical assistance during project mobilisation
Skills & Experience
Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within the UK commercial or industrial sectors, ideally in FM, MSP, or building services contexts
Thorough understanding of UK electrical standards, building regulations, and commercial estimating processes
Proficiency in estimating and takeoff software (e.g., Trimble, ConEst, Amtech, Bluebeam)
Excellent numerical, analytical, and problemsolving abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to justify estimates clearly
Ability to manage multiple tenders concurrently and meet tight deadlines under pressure
Qualifications
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation (preferred)
City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (desirable)
HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline (desirable)
