About the Role

This is an opportunity to join a well-established and respected accountancy firm in Rochdale. As an Accountant, youll take ownership of a portfolio of small business clients, preparing bookkeeping records, VAT returns, year-end accounts, and corporation tax submissions. Working Hours

Full-time (On-site), Monday to Friday

9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (with a 30-minute lunch break)

Key Duties

  • Prepare bookkeeping records, VAT returns, and year-end accounts for a portfolio of small business clients.

  • Process corporation tax returns accurately and efficiently.

  • Work with various accounting software, including Xero, QuickBooks (QBO), Sage, TaxCalc, VT, and Engager.

  • Ensure compliance with UK accounting and tax regulations.

  • Communicate effectively with clients to provide financial insights and support.

Key Requirements

  • AAT Level 4 qualification (or equivalent).

  • A minimum of three years experience working in a UK accountancy practice within the last 10 years.

  • Strong working knowledge of Xero, QBO, Sage, and other accounting software.

  • Proficiency in Excel and Word.

  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
