Mechanic
£50,000 DOE

Were on the hunt for an experienced and confident Mechanic who knows their way around modern and older vehicles alike. About the role

You'll be joining a busy, well-equipped workshop that deals with a range of makes and models everything from routine servicing and diagnostic work, to major repairs and prep for resale. This isn't one of those roles where you're stuck doing oil changes on repeat. You'll be getting stuck into real mechanical work every day, with the tools, support and time to do the job properly. Whether its brakes, cambelts, clutches or something a bit more involved, were looking for someone who can hit the ground running.

This role is based at a long-standing, independent used car dealership with a strong reputation in the South London area. Known for offering high-quality vehicles and excellent service, they've built a loyal customer base and a solid name over the years. The workshop is clean, organised and professionally run no chaos, no cutting corners. Its the kind of place where people stick around, and where your experience will be genuinely valued.

Working hours

  • Monday to Friday: 8am to 6pm

  • Every other Saturday: 8am to 1pm

Key duties

  • Full mechanical diagnostics, servicing, repairs and general maintenance

  • MOT prep and fault finding

  • Working across a mix of vehicles from various manufacturers

  • Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard, safely and on time

  • Communicating any additional faults or work needed clearly and professionally

Key requirements

  • Solid experience as a vehicle mechanic (minimum 5 years preferred)

  • Confident diagnosing and repairing faults without supervision

  • Good working knowledge of petrol, diesel, and hybrid vehicles

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Someone reliable, honest, and genuinely good at what they do
