Accounting Lead Practice

Location: London

Working Arrangement: Primarily office-based, with potential for hybrid working

Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00-18:00

Salary: £40,000-£50,000 per annum


Kamro is delighted to be partnering with a dynamic and fast-growing accountancy and tax services firm in North West London to recruit an Accounting Lead. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant to take on a leadership role, managing team performance, client relationships, compliance, and day-to-day operations.


About the role
You’ll be managing your own client portfoliomainly made up of limited companieswith responsibility for everything from year-end accounts and corporation tax returns to management reporting and ad hoc advice. You won’t be micromanaged here. They’re looking for someone confident, commercially minded and capable of building long-term client relationships without needing their hand held.

You’ll also work closely with senior leadership and a small internal team to deliver high-quality work across the board, contributing to the continued growth of the practice.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of 4-5 staff, encouraging high performance, productivity, and professional development.

  • Workflow Management: Allocate tasks, review accounts, monitor team workloads, and ensure timely completion and follow-ups.

  • System and Records Management: Maintain up-to-date and accurate records, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal procedures.

  • Client Relationship Management: Act as a key point of contact for clients, handling queries and ensuring the delivery of outstanding service.

  • Operational Oversight: Oversee daily firm operations, identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency.

  • Support to Director: Provide ad hoc support to the Director, contributing to business development and strategic initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 8-10 years of experience in a UK accountancy practice.

  • ACCA fully qualified.

  • Demonstrable experience managing a broad portfolio of clients.

  • Proficient in using accountancy software, including Xero, QuickBooks, VT Accounts, VT Transactions, BTC Tax, TaxFiler, Payroll Manager, and Bright Manager.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of tax regulations, compliance, and financial reporting.

  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
