We've partnered with a dynamic and growing B2B supplier of innovative and affordable consumer goods, based in the heart of London. Our client is seeking a dedicated Finance & Operations Manager to play a critical role in the business. This is more than a finance position; you'll shape financial health and operational efficiency in a fast-paced supply environment, helping deliver high-volume products to the mass-market retail sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the Numbers: Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll preparation, and bank reconciliations. Oversee month-end and year-end close processes and prepare key financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Cash Flow & Working Capital: Proactively manage cash flow and optimise working capital to support high-volume product turnover.
  • Inventory & Stock Planning: Optimise stock levels across a broad SKU range, manage Open to Buy (OTB) plans, and conduct Weeks Cover analysis to ensure stock availability aligns with demand patterns.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, monitoring performance against KPIs relevant to retail supply and wholesale operations.
  • Costings & Margins: Calculate product costings and margins, and advise on pricing and profitability improvements.
  • Accounts Receivable and Credit Control: Maintain oversight of receivables and implement robust credit control processes to support healthy cash flow.
  • Process Improvements: Identify and implement improvements across financial and operational workflows,  including ordering, warehousing, and delivery.
  • Strategic Advisor: Serve as a key financial and operational advisor to the business owners, providing insights and recommendations that support sustainable growth.
  • Ensure all tax filings, financial reports, and operational deadlines are delivered accurately and on time.

Requirements:

  • 5-8+ years of hands-on experience in a finance role within a product-based business (e.g., consumer goods, fashion, electronics, homeware).
  • Prior experience in the retail industry, preferably on the supply side (wholesale, distribution, or product-based B2B environments).
  • Deep understanding of stock management, cash flow, Open to Buy planning, and Weeks Cover analysis.
  • Strong track record of calculating and improving margins and overall profitability.
  • Ability to independently manage both finance and operations, from strategic planning to hands-on execution.
  • Highly detail-oriented and deadline-focused.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with Xero accounting platform.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

If you're experienced in finance within the retail supply chain and passionate about optimising operations for a business that serves the mass market with innovative and affordable products, we'd love to hear from you!
