Vehicle Mechanic
£35,000 £42,000 per annum
Lindfield, West Sussex (near Haywards Heath)

About the Role

Youll take part in servicing, diagnosing and repairing a broad range of vehicles from everyday family cars to prestige makes. Youll apply your mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills, to keep our clients cars running safely and reliably. Youll be part of a small team where youll have autonomy, influence and the scope to take pride in your work.

Our client is a long-established independent garage based in Lindfield, operating from the same site since 1974. They are a genuinely family-run business, with a strong reputation in the Haywards Heath and West Sussex area, delivering high quality servicing, MOTs and specialist diagnostics. Their workshop is equipped for modern vehicle systems and high-end brands, yet they maintain the supportive, down-to-earth culture of a smaller team.

Working Hours

4 day working week - 08:00 18:00 - no weekend work

Key Duties

  • Perform servicing, repairs and MOT preparation on a variety of makes and models, including higher-end vehicles.

  • Carry out mechanical and electrical diagnostics and repairs on a wide variety of vehicles.

  • Perform Vehicle Servicing, inspections, repairs, replacements and diagnostics on a variety of makes and Models.

  • Work collaboratively with the team, offering input and suggestions to maintain workshop efficiency and quality.


  • Valid MOT Tester ( Not Essential)

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience as a vehicle-mechanic or technician.

  • A methodical approach to work, good organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work efficiently and take pride in quality of workmanship and customer service.

  • A positive team attitude the garage culture is close-knit and supportive, so youll fit best if you enjoy engagement and mutual respect.


  • MOT Testing experience or willingness to be put through training courses
