At Involve, we’re on a mission to bring students to the center of their own learning journeys. We believe that when students are trusted, supported, and given space to lead, they don’t just learn betterthey thrive.

We started back in 2018 when our founders, Divanshu and Samyak, both fresh out of IIT Madras, chose to skip placements and instead build something that mattered. They envisioned classrooms where students weren’t just passive listeners, but active participantsteaching, mentoring, leading, and growing together.

Today, that vision is alive and growing. We’ve worked with almost 1 million students across government schools in six Indian states. Our core program, Peer Teaching, trains senior students to mentor their juniors in foundational skills like reading and math. But it’s about more than academicsit’s about building confidence, communication, problem-solving, and agency. Because we believe agency is the key to breaking cycles of inequality and helping young people truly own their futures. Over the next 5 years we look forward to creating impact for 10 million children across the length and breadth of India!

We work hand-in-hand with state and district governments in places like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Karnataka. We’ve been lucky to be backed by incredible partners like the Agency Fund, Acumen, Central Square Foundation, and Wells Fargo. And along the way, we’ve been recognized by platforms like HundrED and Reimagine Education for doing things differentlyand effectively.

But honestly, what keeps us going is our students. The girl who ran her first peer-led session with shaky hands and a steady voice. The boy who found his voice helping his classmates. The thousands of stories that remind us every day why this work matters.

Overview of the Role:

Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated and skilled Software Developer to design, build, and maintain technology solutions that drive the impact of our programs. The ideal candidate is passionate about creating user-centric applications, enjoys solving complex problems, and thrives in a mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Software Development

    • Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable applications and tools to support education initiatives.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and translate requirements into technical solutions.

    • Build intuitive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces for diverse user groups.

  2. System Integration

    • Integrate third-party platforms, APIs, and tools to enhance functionality and streamline processes.

    • Optimize and maintain data pipelines to ensure seamless flow and accessibility.

  3. Maintenance

    • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software bugs and performance issues.

    • Regularly update and maintain existing applications to meet evolving organizational needs.

  4. Innovation and Research

    • Explore and recommend emerging technologies to enhance program delivery and scalability.

    • Conduct research to identify best practices in tech-enabled education solutions.

  5. Documentation and Training

    • Develop technical documentation, including user manuals, FAQs, and training materials.

    • Train program teams to effectively use the developed tools and systems.

You should have:

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields. (or relevant certifications from established institutes or organizations is required.)

  • Experience:

    • 3+ years of experience in software development.

    • Prior experience with technology solutions in the education or nonprofit sector is a plus.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Ruby).

    • Expertise in front-end frameworks and back-end technologies

    • Strong database management skills

    • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

  • Other Skills:

    • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

    • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

    • Commitment to using technology for social impact.

Location: Bangalore

Compensation: INR Upto 8 LPA CTC (Negotiable based on experience & fit)
