Environmental Assistant Manager

 Job Description:

On behalf of our client, a leading multinational manufacturing company in the oleochemical industry, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Assistant Manager. This is a key role focused on driving environmental excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the company's sustainability goals at their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.

You will report directly to the SHE Manager and play a crucial part in maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure and maintain full compliance with all environmental standards, government regulations (e.g., PROPER), and corporate policies.
  • Policy & Procedure: Develop, implement, and continuously improve environmental procedures, guidelines, and management systems for all plant operations.
  • Risk Management: Initiate and lead environmental risk management activities, including Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Environmental Aspect & Impact Assessments.
  • Auditing: Manage and coordinate annual internal audits for critical safety and environmental standards. You will also lead risk-based audits on third-party contractors and transporters (CSMS) to ensure their compliance.
  • Reporting: Oversee and ensure the timely and accurate submission of mandatory government reports, including RKL-RPL and EPR documentation.
  • Incident Prevention: Actively support management in the prevention of environmental incidents, near misses, and releases.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Lead and coordinate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute strategic environmental programs. Collaborate effectively with regional SHE teams and external auditors.
  • Management Systems: Drive the review and improvement of the Integrated Management System (IMS), specifically focusing on the ISO 14001 framework.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Environmental Engineering or a related technical field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), with at least 5 years in a Superintendent, Coordinator, or similar leadership role.
  • Mandatory experience in the oleochemical, chemical, or oil & gas downstream industry.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with the characteristics and handling of oleochemical products.
  • Proficient in the implementation and management of ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems.
  • Proven experience in managing RKL-RPL and EPR reporting in accordance with Indonesian regulations.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
