Contract Manager
Job Description:
The Contracts Manager is responsible for contract management activities across the Project. The role leads tender and negotiation processes, manages contractor engagement and performance, contract outcomes, and delivers commercial value while ensuring compliance with supply chain standards and governance requirements. The position applies sound commercial judgement and works collaboratively with stakeholders to identify opportunities, manage risks and achieve sustainable contracting outcomes.
Core Responsibilities
- Strategy: Develop contractor pre-qualification frameworks and manage end-to-end tender processes.
- Contract Administration: Draft, negotiate, and finalize complex construction and supply agreements, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budget limits, and risk objectives.
- Commercial Risk Mitigation: Lead detailed commercial bid evaluations, contract awards and proactively resolve contractual disputes.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure all agreements conform to specific mining regulations, labor standards, and health/safety codes.
- Communication: Prepare reports on contract status and contractor performance. Act as the point of contact for internal teams, contractors, and other stakeholders, facilitating communication and collaboration.
Typical Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in law or engineering.
- Experience:15+ years in hands-on commercial contract management, with a specific focus on heavy industrial, civil, or mining infrastructure projects.
- Legal Knowledge: Strong understanding of contract law and Indonesian mining regulations.
- Key Skills: Expert understanding of standard contract frameworks (e.g., FIDIC), clear communication skills and exceptional dispute resolution abilities
