Deputy Group CFO

 Job Description:

The Deputy Group CFO and Investor Relations serves as a strategic partner to the Group CFO, playing a vital role in financial leadership, corporate finance and corporate strategy, and investor relations. This role focuses on driving financial performance, managing relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring transparency and accuracy in financial reporting while actively engaging with the investment community.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy and Leadership (Corporate Finance)

  • Support the Group CFO in formulating and executing the group's financial strategy.
  • Oversee group-level financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
  • Develop strategies to optimize the capital structure and manage liquidity.
  • Drive initiatives for cost optimization, financial efficiency, and profitability enhancement.
  • Collaborate with business units to align financial operations with corporate goals.

2. Financial Reporting and Compliance 

  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting in line with regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Oversee internal controls and financial risk management frameworks.
  • Lead the coordination of audits and other external financial reviews.

3. Investor Relations

  • Develop and execute an investor relations strategy to enhance shareholder value.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for investors, analysts, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare investor communication materials, including presentations, reports, and press releases.
  • Coordinate and participate in earnings calls, roadshows, and investor meetings.
  • Monitor market trends, analyst reports, and competitor activities to provide strategic insights to leadership.

4. Corporate Development and M&A (Corporate Strategy)

  • Support M&A activities, including valuation, due diligence, negotiation, and integration processes.
  • Partner with the executive team on growth initiatives, including market expansion and strategic partnerships.

5. Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing finance and investor relations team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the finance organization.

General Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA/CPA/CFA preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in finance, with a strong focus on corporate finance, investor relations and/or investment banking.
  • Proven track record in financial strategy, stakeholder management, and leading high-impact teams.
  • Experience in publicly listed companies and knowledge of capital markets is highly desirable.
  • Experience as Corporate Finance and Investor Relations are preferred.
