IT Support Intern

 Job Description:

Horizon Tech is seeking a motivated IT Support Intern who will assist in providing IT support to clients, both on-site and remotely, ensuring timely resolution of basic technical issues while gaining hands-on experience in real-world IT operations.

Must Haves:

  • Basic understanding of computer hardware and software components.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting technical issues (academic or practical exposure).
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts (LAN/WAN).
  • Understanding of Active Directory (user creation, basic permissions).
  • Willingness to learn router configuration (especially MikroTik).
  • Basic awareness of data backup and recovery concepts.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fresh to 6 months of experience (internship/academic projects acceptable).
  • Must have own bike.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in visiting on-site client locations to support hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Help diagnose and resolve issues related to computer systems, printers, and peripherals.
  • Support in preventive maintenance tasks to reduce downtime and improve system performance.
  • Provide basic remote assistance via phone, email, or remote tools under supervision.
  • Assist in troubleshooting software applications, connectivity issues, and configurations.
  • Support installation and setup of computer systems (hardware & software).

Network Management:

  • Assist in providing email support to customers.
  • Help configure POP3 email accounts and server settings.
  • Support Outlook data file management and profile setup.
  • Assist in maintaining LAN/WAN networks.
  • Learn basic configuration of routers and switches.

Active Directory Management:

  • Assist in creating and managing user accounts.
  • Support implementation of basic security practices.

User Backup:

  • Assist in performing backup procedures.
  • Help in restoring data under supervision when required.

Mikrotik Router Management:

  • Learn configuration and management of MikroTik routers.
  • Assist in troubleshooting basic router-related issues.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing IT assets and updating inventory records.

Other Details:

Job Timings: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Morning Fixed)
Working Days: Monday to Saturday
Office Location: Off to Shahrah-e-Faisal, Karachi
