Creative Project Manager & Designer (ZR-676)
Job Description:
Horizon Tech is looking for a talented and versatile Project Manager / Production Artist who can seamlessly bridge creative production and project coordination. This hybrid role is perfect for a detail-oriented professional who is equally comfortable managing timelines and client deliverables as they are crafting polished print-ready designs. You will work directly with the team and play a key role in delivering high-quality output across all service lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate multiple design and print production projects simultaneously
- Create and prepare print-ready files meeting industry standards for offset, digital, and wide-format printing
- Perform precise layering, file organization, and asset management in Adobe InDesign and Illustrator
- Handle complex PDF workflows including preflight checks, color management, and press-ready output
- Develop and present design mockups and concepts using AI-powered design tools
- Leverage Claude AI and other AI platforms to accelerate design creation, ideation, and client presentations
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand project goals and deliver on-brand results
- Manage project timelines, milestones, and deadlines — keeping all stakeholders informed
- Support Trade Show Display, Custom Presentation, and Variable Data Marketing production needs
- Coordinate with vendors and internal departments for finishing, bindery, and mailhouse projects
- Maintain version control and organized file libraries for ongoing and archived projects
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Design & Production
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign — layouts, master pages, styles, and long-form documents
- Strong Adobe Illustrator skills — vector artwork, logo handling, and print-ready file preparation
- Expert-level understanding of layering, file structure, and document organization
- Deep knowledge of PDF workflows — preflight, export settings, color profiles, and press standards
- Experience with bleeds, crop marks, color modes (CMYK/RGB/PMS), and resolution requirements
- Familiarity with Wide/Grand Format and Trade Show Display file preparation
AI-Powered Design & Tools:
- Proficient in using AI tools (Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, DALL·E, or similar) for design creation and mockup generation
- Hands-on experience with Claude AI for workflow automation, content generation, and design assistance
- Ability to create compelling client-facing mockups and presentations powered by AI tools
- Comfortable integrating AI into daily creative and production workflows
Project Management:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Experience using project management tools (Asana, Trello, Monday.com, or similar)
- Excellent communication skills — written and verbal — for client and team interaction
- Proactive problem-solver with a keen eye for detail and quality control
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision
