Horizon Tech is looking for an experienced Magento Web Developer to assist with Magento migrations, platform upgrades, and ongoing development for an existing eCommerce website. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Magento architecture, custom code implementation, troubleshooting, and optimizing existing websites while ensuring stability, security, and seamless functionality throughout the upgrade process.

Must Haves

• 4 to 5 years of proven experience with Magento development (Magento 2 preferred).
• Strong expertise in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and XML.
• Hands-on experience with Magento migrations and version upgrades.
• Experience working with custom Magento modules, themes, and codebases.
• Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
• Understanding of REST APIs and third-party integrations.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while effectively communicating progress and updates.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the existing Magento website and recommend the best migration and upgrade approach.
• Plan and execute Magento version migrations and platform upgrades.
• Review, maintain, and enhance existing custom Magento code.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to custom development and third-party integrations.
• Ensure compatibility of custom modules, themes, and extensions following upgrades.
• Optimize website performance, security, and overall stability.
• Collaborate with the existing development team to implement new features and enhancements.
• Perform comprehensive testing before deployment to ensure a seamless user experience.
• Document all development changes and follow Magento development best practices.
• Provide ongoing website maintenance, enhancements, and technical support as required.

Project Scope

• Evaluate the current Magento website and existing codebase.
