Horizon Tech is seeking a detail-oriented Sign Estimator for developing accurate, bottom-up cost estimates for custom commercial signage projects. This includes evaluating material, labor, fabrication, subcontractor, shipping, installation, and other project-related costs to prepare competitive and profitable estimates.

The estimator will work closely with Sales, Project Management, Production, and Vendors to ensure estimates are complete and aligned with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Develop detailed cost estimates for custom signage projects.
  
• Analyze project specifications, drawings, and customer requirements.
  
• Estimate costs for:
  • Materials
    
  • Labor
    
  • Fabrication
    
  • Shipping
    
  • Installation
    
  • Subcontracted services
    
  • Miscellaneous project costs
    
• Obtain vendor and subcontractor pricing.
  
• Prepare detailed proposals and cost breakdowns.
  
• Collaborate with Sales, Project Managers, Production, and Purchasing teams.
  
• Review project scope and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality.
  
• Maintain accurate estimating records and pricing databases.
  
• Support change order pricing and project revisions when required.

Requirements:
Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of estimating experience in manufacturing, construction, or preferably the sign industry.
  
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  
• Excellent attention to detail.
  
• Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
  
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

Technical Knowledge

The ideal candidate should have a working knowledge of:

• Automotive-grade painting
  
• Vinyl graphics

• Commercial sign installation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience estimating commercial signage projects.
  
• Ability to interpret construction documents and shop drawings.
  
• Experience with ERP or estimating software.
  
• Knowledge of fabrication and installation processes.
