About the Role:
We are in the most exciting phase of our business warehouse digitalisation and transformation and we are looking for a Freight Associate to be part of this journey. As one of the few 100% Singaporean-owned and operated distribution centres, we pride ourselves on delivering excellence to our omni-channel business.
The Freight Associate plays a critical role in supporting freight operations, ensuring goods move efficiently, cost-effectively, and with minimal risk, while working closely with the logistics team, vendors, and frontline colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
Freight Handling & Coordination
- Assist in coordinating inbound and outbound freight with exporters, carriers, warehouses, and retailers.
- Update freight records.
- Support shipping documentation, labelling, and record-keeping.
- Participate in regular stock counts and audits.
Vendor & Carrier Support
- Assist in obtaining competitive freight quotes and evaluating options for best rates.
- Liaise with vendors and carriers to confirm delivery schedules and resolve operational issues.
- Provide feedback on carrier performance and highlight improvement areas to the manager.
Cost & Risk Management Support
- Help identify opportunities to reduce freight costs through route planning and load optimisation.
- Assist with insurance claims for cargo loss or damage by gathering necessary documents and information.
Requirements:
- Minimum 12 years of experience in freight, logistics, or warehouse operations (entry-level candidates with relevant internships may be considered).
- Must be able for manual handling of goods
- Basic understanding of shipping documents and freight processes.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Comfortable with basic Excel and warehouse management systems.
- Forklift certification is an advantage but not required.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Problem-solving mindset with a customer-first attitude.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-changing environment.
