Accounts & Finance Manager

 Job Description:

Responsible for supporting the Finance Director in managing accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and budgeting activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Business Unit Managers and Centre Supervisors to analyse financial performance, provide insights, and support financial planning and target setting.
  • Assist in reviewing financial data and handling queries, while coordinating with external auditors and tax agents to ensure smooth audit, tax, and accounting processes.
  • Review audit and tax schedules to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Review payments, reimbursements, and staff claims to ensure proper documentation and adherence to company policies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and system vendors on Great Plains (GP) matters to improve system functionality, internal controls, and compliance processes.
  • Support the preparation and review of management reports and assist in compiling presentation materials for quarterly board meetings and business unit reviews.
  • Assist in the preparation and consolidation of the organisations annual budget.
  • Monitor adherence to budget allocations and cost management across business units.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and operational requirements where applicable.
  • Complete and submit business surveys as required by the Department of Statistics.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, financial procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist with Power BI implementation and financial reporting improvements.
  • Support system automation initiatives to enhance financial processes and reporting efficiency.
  • Undertake ad hoc duties and finance-related projects as assigned by the Finance Director.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent is an advantage.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and audit processes.
  • Experience working with accounting systems such as Great Plains (GP) or similar ERP systems is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools such as Power BI is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
