About the Job:

  • Keep abreast on the situation and problems pertaining to our Japanese owners' ships. Give line managers input on the worries and expectations of the owners.
  • Have the capacity to discuss technical difficulties and concerns with ship owners in an effective manner.
  • Exhibit proficiency and in-depth understanding of vessel auditing and inspection.
  • Responsible for ensuring that business development initiatives for designated markets are coordinated, accounts for, and contributes to company's commercial and business plan.
  • Build, nurture, and preserve connections with influential people, opinion leaders, and prospective clients to have a thorough grasp of their wants and expectations going forward.
  • Analyse changes in the company's commercial strategy in the context of the responsible area and strive to develop and implement new measures.
  • Attend pertinent industry gatherings and seminars to keep up with client tactics, goals & objectives.
  • Generate and identify potential leads and new business opportunities and securing them in adherence to the company's business and commercial strategy.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree, diploma, or equivalent in marine engineering, navigation, or a degree or certificate in shipping that is internationally recognised
  • Qualification Certificate (for Chief Engineer)
  • A minimum of two years' worth of onshore relevant experience
  • Demonstrated business savvy and the capacity to control ship owners' expectations
  • Strong analytical, relationship-building, leadership, and communication (written, verbal, and presentation) abilities
  • Understanding of the policies and processes of the Classifications Society is preferred.
  • Possess a strong technical grasp of customer demands and expectations; Proficiency in performing and overseeing comparative product analysis through market research approaches; Prerequisite expertise in people management
  • Computer savvy and IT literate
  • Proficiency in overseeing sales cycle processes
  • A track record of securing high-value contracts across a range of product categories, such as bulk or tankers
