About the job Engineer (Lifeboat)
Job Description:
- Maintaining, repairing, inspecting, commissioning, and installing rotating machinery for ships and power production, including gas and steam turbines. Services for cryogenic equipment. bulk handling of materials.
- Service and calibration of automation and instruments.
- Troubleshooting and servicing of control systems (PLC). Panel assembly manufacturing. Burner overhauling, automatic feed water control and combustion control for boilers.
- A willingness to put in extra time and work hands-on in an oil and gas, marine, and industrial setting (with compensation determined by MOM practices).
- Able to leave on short notice for overseas trips (paid allowance).
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent in Automation & Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or Marine Engineering from NTC or Diploma programmes.
- With or without prior seafaring or expertise in a relevant field.
- Effective communication skills between employees and chief engineers/supervisors at all levels.
- Able to communicate in Mandarin with clients abroad and possess a strong grasp of English for writing service reports.
