JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Acting as a Deputy DPA to support and assist in vessel monitoring.
  • Assisting the General Manager in planning and materializing the requirements for crew changes.
  • Ensuring vessels are able to perform their voyages and daily operations in compliance with Charterers Voyage Orders owners policy and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance of terminal operators and oil majors based on charterers requirements.
  • Managing and arranging vetting inspections, including submissions onto the OCIMF SIRE online platform.
  • Ability to carry out on board and / or remote pre-vetting inspections of the assigned vessels.
  • Overseeing the vessels navigational matters, including review of passage plans and conducting navigation audits.
  • Liaising and managing all Flag State and Port State relation matters.
  • Ensuring timely updates of Q88 and HVPQ.
  • To advise accordingly on changes of regulations, requirements and industry best practices.
  • Managing and promoting vessels health, safety and environment compliance.
  • Planning and executing assigned ship visit on close liaison with his seniors
  • Enhanced and continuous improvement of company's SMS by providing guidance and information on the changes.
  • To provide support, training and enforcement of crew competency and discipline.
  • To evaluate and support queries regarding vessels capabilities and performances.
  • Involvement in the company emergency response team.
  • Main point of contact for external and stakeholders in ensuring smooth operation of the assigned vessels.
  • Working closely with the Technical Superintendent in ensuring efficiency of budget vessels assigned.
  • Adhoc task and assignment assigned by the General Managers.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Seagoing experience as a Master on LPG Tankers with at least 1 year of shore experience in managing LPG Tankers.
  • Experience in relation to safety, health and environment management and compliance for LPG tankers.
  • Additional sailing experience on LPG tankers will be beneficial.
  • Familiar with international and local maritime regulations and requirements.
  • Result oriented person with strong sense of integrity and professionalism.
  • Excellent leadership, teamwork, management and communication skills.
  • Proactive, approachable and has good decision making ability.
  • A people individual who is able to motivate and inspire people.
  • Preferably Singaporean/PR and fluent in English.
