About the job Electrical Superintendent (Consultant)
Key Responsibilities:
- In charge of all electrical and electronic components of major repairs, new equipment installs, and drydocking.
- Create and put into action plans to improve the electrical and electronic equipment on LPG vessels in terms of both performance and condition.
Layup Repair Projects:
- Establish and oversee repair budgets. Plan, carry out, and oversee repair projects in conjunction with ship managers to ensure maximum efficiency and minimum downtime.
- Verify compliance with client and legal requirements by conducting onboard inspections and creating repair specifications.
- Oversee and assist with the installation, maintenance, and upgrading of electrical and electronic automation systems.
- Provide summaries and technical information related to repair initiatives.
Ships Under Operation:
- Visit and help vessels that require repairs or electrical support.
- Marine engineers and electrical officers are evaluated and trained onboard.
Processes and System Efficiency:
- Standardise job progress monitoring, quote comparison, repair specifications, and billing. Examine finished projects to make ongoing improvements.
- Create and put into place methods and procedures for electrical and electronic equipment's technical and safety elements.
Recruitment and Training:
- Provide training materials on electrical maintenance and troubleshooting for engineers.
- Take part in crew seminars to improve output.
- Conduct interviews for the roles of Assistant ETO and Electro Technical Officer (ETO).
- Examine the ETO trainee recruitment and training initiatives.
Work from Home Period:
- Examine and evaluate electrical maintenance tasks, onboard repair projects, mishaps, and problems to determine the underlying reasons and create long-term asset management plans.
- Remote troubleshooting for electrical and electronic defects is provided to operational vessels.
Place of Work
- Working from home and performing onboard support, maintenance, and projects while at sea, as well as shipyard repairs.
Job Requirements:
- Electrical and electronic engineering diploma or degree.
- 60 months or more of experience required as an electrotechnical or electrical officer.
- Strong familiarity with the electrical and technical equipment on board ships.
- The capacity to travel on short notice and lead a round-the-clock on-call lifestyle
- Outstanding organisational, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
- Self-reliant, results-oriented, creative, and very team-oriented.
- Empathy and the capacity to collaborate well with people of different nationalities.
