Job Description:
- Assist the Head of HSEQ with Safety and Marine-related issues pertaining to offices, contractual service functions, and vessels.
- Ensure that the SMS platform complies with all applicable maritime laws and regulations.
- assistance with safety campaigns, internal vessel audits, and incident investigations.
- Keep an eye on user requests for modifications to SMS, and work with process owners to plan changes to procedures and implement them in SMS.
- Track changes to laws (IMO, Class, Flag), make adjustments to processes and procedures, and release information via SMS.
- Centre of attention for setting up and organising management reviews.
- As needed, teach sea and shore personnel in SMS and HSEQ, and establish quality targets for the fleet.
- As a member of the crisis response team, create and update business continuity strategies.
- As needed, assist the Technical, Crewing, and Vetting departments.
- Gathering information on HSEQ performance, audit findings, and inspections for trend analysis.
- Assist the Head of HSEQ in analysing performance information and promoting enhancements in performance.
- Writing and publishing Circulars and Newsletters.
Requirements:
- Degree in maritime studies or bachelor's degree in a different field or
- It would be beneficial to have relevant certificates in health and safety or maritime, or an equivalent
- Two years as a head of HSEQ or
- Five years of appropriate experience working for a ship management company.
- Understanding of worldwide HSEQ laws, rules, and guidelines (such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 1801, and ISM Code)
