Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for selling technical solutions and services to ship owners and managers in Singapore and the broader APAC region, as required.
  • Develop customer-specific value propositions and clearly communicate the benefits of the technical services and solutions offered.
  • Design and sell customer-focused technical solutions by engaging with both existing and potential clients.
  • Ensure post-sales customer satisfaction, manage client relationships, and assist with collections when needed.
  • Respond promptly to customer needs by coordinating with relevant teams and serve as a dedicated point of contact for all customer inquiries.
  • Track and document monthly sales progress.
  • Analyze competitors and present strategies for market expansion.
  • Act as a customer advocate within the organization, managing customer relationships.
  • Explore adjacent industries to identify potential opportunities based on objective data.
  • Stay informed on emerging industry legislation and regulations, identifying gaps that can be leveraged for growth.
  • Research and respond to open Request for Proposals (RFPs) and manage the end-to-end bidding process to secure business opportunities.
  • Survey the market to identify struggling clients and offer tailored, value-driven solutions.
  • Determine the best value for customers based on their specific needs and preferences.
  • Facilitate a smooth transition of new customers to the account management team.
  • Additional responsibilities may be added or adjusted depending on organizational needs, subject to mutual agreement.
  • Implement and manage CRM and other business development tools, collaborating with internal experts to sell and deliver competitive solutions.
  • Maintain high standards of communication, both verbal and written, and exhibit excellent presentation skills.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three to five years experience in the maritime industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, essential for market engagement and strategic business planning.
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using client relationship management systems.
  • Strong organizational skills, with excellent attention to details, to anticipate and mitigate potential challenges.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships at all levels within an organization, with high levels of impact and influence.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a constantly evolving work environment.
  • Proficient in project management and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word).
  • Fluency in both English and Chinese is essential.
