About the job Electrical & Automation Engineer (Marine)
Responsibilities:
- Perform installation, maintenance, repair and replacement of marine electrical (AC/DC) and electronics systems for onboard vessel and power plants.
- Troubleshoot problems for customers, provide recommendations for problem resolution: provide estimates to customer for repair, replacement and installation according to problem diagnosis and repair/replacement recommendations.
- Identifies parts that need to be replaced and places orders for parts or repair services as necessary for themselves.
- Assist the mechanical team to complete the mechanical and electrical work scope within the time frame given.
- Perform PMS service and troubleshooting of diesel engines control and automation systems.
- Works with Department Manager, Service Engineers to support their electrical repair needs and to schedule troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment.
- Must be able to manage time and coordinate all aspects of the job that is assigned by the Department Manager. This includes procuring parts, appropriate tools, equipment, and supplies required for troubleshooting and repairing the vessel electrical equipment.
- Perform Commissioning, Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul tasks onboard ship
- Understand technical document to troubleshoot or provide technical support to clients
- Study for job from client and prepare service report after service/commissioning
- Capable to manage servicing and troubleshooting and recommend spare parts for following equipment:
- Main Engine Electronic Governor System
- Main Engine Bridge Maneuvering System
- Pneumatic Control System
- Main Engine Telegraph System
- Other Automation equipment such as Boiler Controls, Purifiers, Alarm Monitoring System, Main Switch Boards and etc
- Main engine automation & bridge maneuvering system
- Other Marine automation and control system
- Demonstrates efficient job planning and time scheduling for themselves.
Requirements:
- At least Diploma certificate for electrical automation
- At least 5 years of marine electrical repair related experience
- Has Seamans Book with relevant STCW certificates
- Travel overseas and do voyage jobs
- Strong working electrical knowledge of marine diesel engines and auxiliary equipment - electrical and automation systems; installation, maintenance, repair, replacement
