Responsibilities

  • Supervise and central line the Accreditation and quality system for the labs in various regions.
  • Manage the fuel and water laboratories in multiple countries.
  • Maintain high standard of quality assurance and continuous improvement.
  • Manage operating cost efficiency and cost savings and manage the budgeting.
  • Keep abreast of advances and changes in laboratory equipment and test methods by reading relevant technical literature or Internet searches.
  • Monitor occurrences of non-compliance from the quality system or customer complaint to establish the root causes and implement the appropriate corrective and preventive action.
  • Investigate customer complaints pertaining to the lab results.
  • Review customer requests to establish whether the laboratory has the resources and capability to conduct additional tests.
  • Expand fuel and water laboratory network in assigned regions through subcontract and/or joint venture, Acquisition.
  • Assist Management in resource planning for the lab as well as future business development.
  • Leading the laboratories to improve laboratory testing capabilities and capacity based on business needs.
  • Supervise lab and IT on digital development and connection at all test stations in laboratories.
  • Ensure effective communication with team members to achieve appropriate levels of understanding and commitment to business objectives.
  • Drive performance management for laboratories staff, supported by adherence to the Company's Performance Management framework, by appraising, coaching, and developing direct reports, ensuring each individual has a set of objectives and is given an annual performance appraisal.
  • Manage the vendors/ suppliers qualification and procurement of critical material and services

Requirements:

  • Degree in Chemistry (or relevant field) or have attained a similar level of knowledge by virtue of experience in relevant field of Chemistry.
  • Minimum 15 years of working experience in petroleum testing laboratory.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 standards, well versed in ISO8217 petroleum standard and test parameters.
  • Hands on experience with test equipment, calibration, and LIMS connection.
  • Experience in regulatory and accreditation audits.
  • Experience in using GCMS is an added advantage
  • Experience in laboratory management for multiple laboratories and international team
  • Experience in laboratory subcontracting expansion and development of joint venture partnership.
  • Must be able to work cohesively with fellow departments to attain common goals.
