Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all facets of port operations, such as stevedore coordination, cargo loading and unloading, and vessel scheduling. 
  • Verify adherence to business rules, industry standards, and safety legislation.
  • Create and preserve connections with local representatives, port officials, and other interested parties. 
  • Track and evaluate port performance, pinpoint areas in need of development, and put the right plans into action. 
  • Control and maximise journey costs, taking into account the cost of bunker supply and other running costs. 
  • Work together with other departments, such finance and logistics, to guarantee smooth coordination and communication. 
  • Assist ship crews with loading and unloading procedures by offering technical advice and assistance. 
  • Assure accurate and timely reporting of port performance and activities. 
  • To promote continual progress, keep abreast of advancements and trends in the industry.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in a related position.
  • Master Mariner COC or a comparable designation.
  • Strong familiarity with port operations, including cargo handling, safety protocols, and stowage planning.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated capacity for team leadership and management. 
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, such as maritime studies.
