- Help the LNG carrier's superintendent or vessel manager plan the dock work schedule in order to shorten the amount of time needed for the dry docking process.
- Help the superintendent bargain for better terms and steer clear of worse ones in dock contracts.
- Encourage the superintendent to shorten the shipyard's dry-docking process.
- Analyze the quality performance of the shipyard and suppliers for every dry-docking job, then record the data in a database.
- Establish a target for cost optimization and quality performance using your own KPI.
- Cost optimization and obtaining improved contractual terms and conditions from vendors will be the goals.
- Examine the price of every docking item and negotiatie over the cost with the shipyard either before or after the dry docking process is finished.
- Combine data on shipbuilding expenses for every dry docking operation and procurement costs associated with the dry docking process.
- To save time on managing duplicate information, this data is kept in a special database that facilitates easy sharing of information among supervisors.
- Find vendors who can provide general items that are not ship-only and can be scheduled at the ship manager's discretion at a lower cost while maintaining the same quality.
- Overseeing the dry-docking process as a superintendent for the shipyard site team.
- Examine and suggest a specification for the common works, like rule compliance, that each ship must have completed.
