- Effectively oversee and optimize the FFA portfolio to hedge against fluctuations in freight rates and minimize risk
- Continuously monitor market trends and the performance of existing FFA contracts, making adjustments as needed. Formulate and execute FFA strategies in line with the company's risk management objectives.
- Execute FFA trades, encompassing both long and short positions, in accordance with established strategies.
- Analyze the company's exposure to market risk, including vessel charter rates and bunker prices.
- Effectively manage derivative positions to mitigate risk. Ensure compliance with hedge policies, review policies, and oversee their implementation.
- Evaluate potential trade counterparties and establish partnerships with favorable terms.
- Manage margins and distribute trades across counterparties.
- Contribute insights to the Long Term Business plan, offering perspectives on potential risks and opportunities related to market conditions.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop strategies for sustainable growth and profitability.
- Conduct variance analysis to provide data-driven recommendations for portfolio adjustments, utilizing tools such as Power BI
