About the job Marine Insurance Manager
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Oversee a shipowner's portfolio of marine insurance policies, making that the coverage is accurate and comprehensive.
- Analyse the hazards involved in maritime operations and make recommendations for suitable insurance protection.
- Help stakeholders comprehend the terms and conditions of the policy and offer advice on risk-reduction tactics.
- Process claims and negotiate settlements, communicating as needed with surveyors, underwriters, and other relevant parties.
- To promote loyalty and trust, cultivate and preserve solid connections with clients, brokers, and other business associates.
- Keep abreast of market developments, legislative adjustments, and new hazards in order to offer anticipatory risk management services.
- Collaborate with Corporate Services to renew D&O corporate insurance as well as property and public liability insurance.
- Handle the renewal of insurance policies, handle claims, and submit claims as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, such as business, finance, or maritime.
- Five years of minimum experience in maritime insurance, ideally working for a shipowner.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with the capacity to establish rapport with both clients and co-workers.
- A demonstrated history of managing insurance portfolios and resolving claims in a hectic setting.
