Service Engineer (2-stroke)
About the job Service Engineer (2-stroke)
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a field service report and include relevant before and after repair images in it for the ultimate give a client report
- Able to read electrical drawings and carry out simple electrical fault troubleshooting system with little or no direction
- Help the workshop manager create a parts quotation so the buyer may buy spares to carry out maintenance and/or overhaul
- Hold daily Tool Box meetings and make sure that workplace health procedures and safety regulations are followed
- When required, mentor and oversee junior engineers.
- Execute additional tasks as needed by the workshop from time to time.
- MRO services, such as organising, identifying, diagnosing, and carrying out small and major repairs major OEM marine propulsion equipment overhaul
- Includes yard, basin and sea trials for the new gearbox's commissioning.
Requirements:
- Mechanical engineering training, ideally NITEC or above
- Five years or more of experience in the marine industry, specifically in 2-stroke/4-stroke engines
- Capable of troubleshooting propulsion-related equipment with little supervision
- It is essential to have the ability to travel abroad, even on short notice.
- Strong communication abilities in both written and spoken English
