Job Description:

  • Make environmental preservation and safety a priority.
  • For the installation, modifications, upgrades, and operational maintenance of vessels, create and maintain documentation.
  • Collaborate with the applications, team lead, and IT support team to build system configurations based on requirements, guaranteeing the technical coherence of the IT solutions from beginning to end.
  • Oversee the migration or upgrade of current systems or applications, and successfully manage the implementation and operational support of projects to ensure that SLAs are met or exceeded.
  • Examine the system's design, testing, root cause analysis, and solution analysis; provide recommendations as needed.
  • Diagnose issues, put preventative and remedial measures into place, and instruct the IT support staff on multi-tiered application designs utilising a range of technologies.
  • Oversees and provides support for the data center's infrastructure, which includes storage and backup systems for HPE Nimble, Veeam, and Azure Site Recovery as well as VMWare and HyperV.
  • Take part in maintenance and support tasks like vulnerability management, incident response, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintains and watches over Active Directory and its constituent parts, such as backups, OUs, Group policies, DNS, DHCP, MDT, and WDS.
  • Extensive knowledge of middleware standards and best practices for constructing a durable and hardened environment.
  • Maintain, keep an eye on, and assist the IT support staff with cybersecurity, best practices for security, and backup options.
  • Oversee and oversee the purchase request for IT hardware, and be in charge of the handover and takeover procedures for the vessel.
  • Joins the on-call support team and offers weekend and after-hours service.
  • Achieves the monthly KPIs for ongoing projects, communication efforts, and vessel ticketing.

Requirements:

  • IT or computer science bachelor's degree, or equivalent
  • At least five years of experience deploying IT systems
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office 365, MS Windows server, Windows 11, Active Directory, firewalls, network switches, UPS, antivirus software, storage/backup, and replication systems, as well as certifications is a plus.
  • An additional benefit would be expertise managing a data centre and familiarity with Python and PowerShell programming.
  • Knowledgeable about thin client environments and Hyper-V
  • Construct servers using best practices and company standards.
  • Familiarity with data cabling, cloud computing, communication systems, Wi-Fi infrastructure, and communication
  • Proactive, energetic, responsible self-starter with a strong focus on customers and the ability to multitask
  • The capacity to set priorities and adhere to deadlines
  • Effective communication skills, verbal, non-verbal and written; ability to communicate with team members at all levels of the organizations
