Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager

 Job Description:

We're looking for a seasoned accounting professional based in Cebu City to own the financial operations of a U.S.-based client firm. This is a high-trust, high-autonomy role for someone who doesn't need to be managed into doing good work.

What You'll Own

You'll be the primary accounting authority for the engagement, responsible for the full financial picture, not just transaction processing. That means:

  • End-to-end payroll management, including salary computation, deductions, statutory compliance, and payouts under both Philippine and U.S. regulatory frameworks
  • Full-cycle AP and AR, including invoice management, vendor coordination, and collections oversight
  • Preparation and ownership of financial statements, journal entries, and month-end close
  • Budget forecasting and financial planning support for a U.S.-based executive
  • Direct coordination with local banking partners in Cebu for transactions and reconciliations
  • QuickBooks management, including chart of accounts, reporting, and audit readiness
  • Proactive identification of financial discrepancies, process gaps, and compliance risks before they become problems

What We're Looking For

  • At least 4 years of progressive accounting experience, with demonstrated ownership of financial operations, not just task execution
  • CPA license strongly preferred; candidates with CPA board eligibility and equivalent experience will be considered
  • Deep working knowledge of both Philippine statutory requirements (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, BIR) and U.S. tax and payroll frameworks
  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online; experience with Xero or similar platforms is a plus
  • Cebu City-based is required due to local banking coordination responsibilities
  • Proven ability to work independently with a U.S.-based principal and meet deadlines without close supervision
  • Strong written English communication skills; you'll be interfacing directly with executive stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

What This Role Is Not

This isn't a data entry job or a supporting role. The right person takes ownership, surfaces issues before being asked, and manages the financial function with the same discipline they'd apply if it were their own business. If that's how you work, we want to talk.
