About the Role:

As their Company Accountant, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of financial management for their business. This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles and a keen eye for detail. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and stability of their company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to management.
  • Payroll Management: Oversee all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries and wages, including superannuation and tax obligations.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • BAS Preparation & Lodgement: Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) accurately and on time.
  • Invoicing & Billing: Manage the invoicing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of customer billing.
  • Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to existing financial processes and systems.
  • Liaison: Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ad-hoc Duties: Perform other related duties as required.

About You:

  • Proven experience as a Company Accountant or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Solid experience with payroll processing and related legislation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in preparing and lodging BAS.
  • Experience with accounting software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in the solar industry or related field is a plus.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance (CA/CPA preferred).
