About the Role:
As their Company Accountant, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of financial management for their business. This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles and a keen eye for detail. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and stability of their company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to management.
- Payroll Management: Oversee all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries and wages, including superannuation and tax obligations.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
- BAS Preparation & Lodgement: Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) accurately and on time.
- Invoicing & Billing: Manage the invoicing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of customer billing.
- Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to existing financial processes and systems.
- Liaison: Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Ad-hoc Duties: Perform other related duties as required.
About You:
- Proven experience as a Company Accountant or similar role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Solid experience with payroll processing and related legislation.
- Demonstrated proficiency in preparing and lodging BAS.
- Experience with accounting software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in the solar industry or related field is a plus.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance (CA/CPA preferred).
