We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Financial Accounts Manager / Bookkeeper to join our team in Queensland.
The Role
This is a pivotal role within their firm, responsible for overseeing the financial operations and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the firm's financial health and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and cash flow management.
- Prepare and reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Oversee trust account management and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and analyse financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Manage payroll and superannuation obligations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in financial accounting and bookkeeping, preferably within a law firm.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Relevant accounting qualifications preferred (e.g., CPA, CA, or equivalent).
