About the Role
Join a leading partnership dedicated to redefining the environment, our industry leading client is currently hiring for an experienced Lead Architect to join their talent rich team and friendly studio dynamic. As Lead Architect you will design, project manage and deliver a broad range of exciting building-related projects across various different build sectors. Our client has a wide range of expertise in providing services to both Central and Local Government projects, dealing directly with a prestigious client base such as; the Ministry of Justice; the HM Land Registry; the Post Office; City and County Councils. As an experienced Lead Architect you will be able to undertake the design, specification, and project management of building projects in a lead role. You will lead multidisciplinary Design Teams on projects from initial conception through to detailed design, tender and delivery on site, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the quality expectations of the clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee project management tasks including planning applications, building regulations compliance, and listed consent procedures where applicable.
- Spearhead the design and specification process for building projects, adhering to current guidelines, standards, and regulations.
- Take charge of multidisciplinary design teams and lead on larger projects, with dedicated project manager oversight.
- Coordinate external consultants and contractors within the design team to ensure project deliverables meet KPIs and maintain quality standards.
- Liaison with clients to ensure expectations are met and managed accordingly.
- Proactively engage with consultants and collaborate across disciplines within the practice.
- Provide specialised technical advice and support to the practice on architectural matters.
Lead team meetings pertaining to architectural issues within the team.
Propel fee generation initiatives for the Architectural Department.
- Direct and oversee the workload of a team comprising two Architectural Technicians.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
ARB registration Architect, with a relevant degree, HNC or equivalent to.
Membership in ARB and or RIBA.
Demonstrated track record of success in architectural design and project delivery, with post-qualification experience and an exemplary portfolio to match.
Experienced in diverse operational contexts, catering to a variety of different sectors.
Proficient in organising, guiding, and leading multidisciplinary design teams.
Capable of providing effective support to drive and implement change initiatives.
Possess strong communication and leadership skills, evident in previous roles.
Exhibit high calibre of knowledge of architectural design and delivery principles, theory, and practice.
Understand the application and coordination of other building and engineering disciplines in project design and delivery.
Apply technical judgement to ensure project compliance with design standards.
Familiarity with the Design and Construction business landscape or relevant work environment experience.
Proficient using AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Photoshop or similar software.
Extensive experience across all six RIBA work-stages.
Hold themselves accountable during client-facing interactions and communication.
