As a Junior Data Scientist, you will be tasked with analyzing and interpreting complex data sets to identify patterns and trends across a broad spectrum of spatial and temporal scales. You will collaborate closely with other members of the innovation and data science teams to develop and implement algorithms that can be used to improve climate forecasts and uncover novel human-natural system dynamics.

Responsibilities:

Identify patterns and trends by analyzing and interpreting complex data sets

Develop and implement models and algorithms for machine learning

Develop novel products and services in collaboration with the Innovation team

Work with Engineering to incorporate new tools into the core product.

Share findings and insights with a variety of stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Capability to write code that is well-documented and well-structured.

A fundamental comprehension of statistics, including familiarity with probability theory and time-series analysis, is required.

Significant experience analyzing and visualizing relatively large geospatial datasets.

Bachelor of Science in physical / environmental science, computer science, or a related field.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with Python (knowledge of R, SQL, or JavaScript is a plus).

Experience with collaborative data development (Jupyter Notebook and GitHub familiarity is a plus).

Experience manipulating geospatial data (GIS) in Python or R (QGIS, Whitebox, or GRASS knowledge is a plus).

Experience conveying intricate findings to non-technical audiences.
