As an Experienced Project Manager, you will lead cross-functional teams in the planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects. You will work on multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring seamless coordination between teams based in Latin America and stakeholders in the United States. Your role will be pivotal in aligning technical efforts with business objectives, managing resources effectively, and fostering clear communication across borders.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management Across Teams:
Oversee multiple simultaneous software development project
- Coordinate with geographically distributed teams
- Act as the main liaison between Latin American teams and US-based clients or stakeholders.
Project Planning & Strategy:
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Create detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation schedules.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and motivate software development teams, including developers, designers, and QA engineers.
- Ensure team members understand roles, responsibilities, and expectations.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact for US-based clients and stakeholders.
- Provide regular status updates, resolve conflicts, and ensure alignment with project goals.
Risk & Issue Management:
Identify potential risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
Address and resolve issues promptly to maintain project momentum.
Budget & Timeline Oversight:
Track project expenses and ensure adherence to budget constraints.
Monitor progress to ensure milestones are met on schedule.
Process Improvement:
- Evaluate and refine project management methodologies to improve efficiency.
- Promote best practices in Agile, Scrum, or other frameworks used by the team.
Requirements
Experience
Proven experience (5+ years) managing software development projects
- Demonstrated success managing multiple simultaneous projects across distributed teams.
- Experience working with geographically diverse teams, particularly in Latin America, and collaborating with US-based clients or stakeholders.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of software development processes, methodologies, and lifecycle (SDLC).
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum frameworks, including sprint planning and retrospectives.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as JIRA, Trello, Asana, or similar platforms.
Basic technical knowledge
Experience with software version control and issue-tracking systems.
- Familiarity with database concepts (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and basic troubleshooting.
Language Skills
- Proficient English: A must for effective communication with stakeholders and teams.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
PMP, CSM, SAFe, or other relevant certifications are a strong advantage.
